MY 2 CENTS ON THE U.S. INDUSTRY
What I found in this particular market (I can only speak for New England) is that in many ways it’s still in its infancy when it comes to branding and marketing for small and medium companies:
- In the majority of cases, marcom seems to be directed to industry peers and not the target clients. For example, industry terminology is used non-stop on social media — language that means nothing to most of us layman
- Social media abounds with outdated graphic-heavy marketing posts instead of visual-rich image carousels and videos
- Even medium-sized brands have yet to embrace an SEO strategy to combat the big aggregators and massive brands that occupy Page 1 of Google (I found no examples of “blog + YouTube” strategies amongst my client’s competitors)
